Lego creates six mini Ferrari kits for Shell

LEGO Shell Ferraris

The best way we can think of to get customers into your gas stations is by offering complimentary fuel. The next best way? Lego Ferraris. For a limited time, Shell gas stations are offering six tiny Lego Ferrari kits when you fill up your tank.

Unfortunately to take advantage of the offer, you need to gas up in Hong Kong. Though we don't yet have official word from Lego or Shell, there doesn't seem to be a plan to make a similar offer here in the States.

But you can virtually build and drive the six models on Shell's Website. Choose from the Scuderia Ferrari Truck, an F40, 150 Italia, 458 Italia, FXX, or a 250 GT Berlinetta. If virtual Lego building isn't enough for you, these should materialize on eBay soon enough.

Check out Shell's promotional video of the deal below. A transcript provided by Shell is also available.

Jay Leno Welcomes Adam Carolla and His 1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2: Video

Posted by Newbie Bloggers on Monday, 13 August 2012

Adam Carolla, known for his quirky comedic remarks and touted love for the automobile, stops by Jay Lenos garage bringing a 1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2. Jay Leno claims up-front to Adam that he is not much of a fan of modern Ferraris. However, Jay does have a love for classic Ferraris as he does with other classics.

This episode of Jay Lenos garage eventually gets into a comedic gear. Not only is Adam a jokester, but Jay has his say when he takes the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 out for a spin. Jay Leno and Adam Carolla

We've been watching episodes of Jay Leno's Garage for a good long while now, but we can honestly say this is the first clip that's actually riled more than a chuckle. Adam Carolla stopped by with his 1966 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2, and while Leno isn't much of a Ferrari fan, he has an appreciation for older metal of any origin. The show starts off on the right foot as the two curmudgeon comedians lament the lack of auto interest among the younger generation and Leno bemoans how complicated modern Ferrari models are. But the real hilarity kicks in once the two take to the road.

Not long into the drive, the 330 GT 2+2 runs out of gas. We're not sure whether that's more embarrassing for Carolla, who drove the car to the Big Dog Garage, or Leno, who promptly took the keys. Either way, the Ferrari gets back on course with a little help from a five-gallon jug of fuel. Before long, a second issue rears its head: the speedometer begins wailing due to lack of lubrication. That wail eventually vibrates the gauge enough to shake the needle itself free from the face. Hilarity ensues. Check it out for yourself.

Ferrari debuts new snow and ice driving school in Aspen

Ferrari FF in the Snow

If you're one of those good souls who doesn't mind getting their Ferrari out in foul weather, we have good news for you. The Italian automaker has just announced the creation of a special winter driving school in Aspen, Colorado. The 2012 Winter Driving Experience is the first snow and ice driving school in America, and should offer participants the chance to sample everything that the new Ferrari FF has to offer in low-traction situations on a custom-built snow and ice course. A fleet of eight FF models have been specially prepared for the task.

Ferrari says that the whole experience will set you back a cool $11,300, plus $950 per guest, though don't expect to lay down your credit card and hop in line unless you already own a Ferrari the course is for current Prancing Horse owners only. The event will take place over three days and two nights, and Ferrari says that the instruction is based on the successful Pilota On Ice program made popular in Italy. Sounds like a good time to us. Hit the jump for the full press blast and check out the Ferrari site for more information.

Ferrari corrals the Prancing Horses for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee [w/video]

Ferrari FF with the 4th Mounted Carabinieri

When Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Diamond Jubilee, it will be a cause for celebration for her entire United Kingdom. But the Brits aren't the only ones marking Her Majesty's 60 years on the throne.

The celebrations will apparently include delegations from around the world, including one mixed party of prancing horses old and new to represent Italy. Not only will several Ferraris be represented at the first Concours d'Elegance to be held at Windsor Castle, but Ferrari is bringing the 4th Mounted Carabinieri to strut their stuff on the grounds of the palatial estate for Her Majesty's enjoyment.

The event will form part of the Diamond Jubilee Pageant from May 10 to 13, but you can see a preview of what Ferrari and the Mounted Carabineri it supports have in store after the jump. The fancy dress makes the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (which you'd otherwise be more likely to see in the other Windsor, where Sergio Marchionne chief executive of Ferrari's parent company went to college) look sober by comparison, but it's worth watching for the overly dramatic music alone.
