The National Hot Rod Association is racing this weekend in Brainerd, Minnesota, but history was made two weeks ago at the Northwest Nationals in Seattle. We overlooked it at the time, but when Erica Enders won in Pro Stock and Courtney Force won in Funny Car, it was the first time two women have won in pro classes on the same day.
Enders notched her second victory of the year. For Force, a rookie and the daughter of NHRA legend John Force, it was her first career win. Both women had to defeat reigning champions in their classes to pull off their victories. Enders went 6.614 at 209.65 miles per hour to beat defending Pro Stock champion Jason Line, while Force did 4.238 seconds at 293.54 mph to top Funny Car champ Matt Hagan.
